5/23/11 Route 106 Raceway + Twin State Speedway

Hello sponsors,

Its that time of year again. Its spring and that means racing is here. There is still time to sponsor us. If you would like to sponsor us leave a comment and we will get in touch. This weekend we raced at Route 106 Raceway on saturday, and Twin State Speedway on sunday. At Route 106 we arrived around two o'clock. Anxious to start up the karts we, started up Connor's kart and it ran perfectly. But, when we went to start my kart, the electric starter's battery didn't work. So we went around looking for a starter to borrow but, no one had the same size starter bit. So, my Dad ran to a bunch of different stores to find a battery. Meanwhile, I had to get Connor ready for his first practice. After I got Connor all ready, I got him out on the track. But, all he had to do was drive around slowly to dry off the track.

By the time Connor got off the track my Dad was back with no luck. So we got Connor through his practices together. Then, my Dad went back to the store, this time he came back faster. With a battery that was of course uncharged. Finally, my friend Jonathan came by with his starter. He told us that we could use it, if we had the right size socket for it. Which we did have a socket for. It was already time for qualifies by the time we were ready and I got out onto the track and passed someone but, then came off the track because, I couldn't keep control of my car. So I decided to come off and try and fix the problem. Connor was in the pits already done with his heat race and he finished second!!

Features came fast and my Dad hoped he had fixed the problem as we were on the grid. So Connor went out first and I waited and waited. Towards the end of Connor's race I heard
"Connor Rogers getting very aggressive for that second spot. He comes down for the pass and gives him a shove. Connor Rogers now in the second position reeling in the leader!" the announcer says.
"Checkered flag in the air, and the #29 gets the win" the announcer say.
"Oh, sorry everybody the #3 did in fact get that win!" the announcer says. Apparently the kid in first stopped thinking he won on the white flag and Connor passed him!! CONNOR'S FIRST WIN! He was so excited! Then I had to go out and the car handled well at first but, then I decided to come off because the wheels on my car were loose. Finally, after a frustrating and thrilling day we went home.

The next day we showed up at Twin State and raced. For the first two practices I was struggling with the car and couldn't control it. But, Connor did great in his practices. For the heats the my kart seemed good at first but, then almost instantaneously went back to hopping all over the place and I pulled off. Once more frustrated and annoyed I couldn't keep up. But, Connor came off with a heat win, which again I was not able to see. CONNOR'S FIRST HEAT WIN! Connor was on fire. Last, but not least the features. For my feature I passed a few karts and was doing alright when the car did it again and I pulled off the track. Connor did great again and finished his feature race with an exciting almost three wide finish. He got third!! It was a frustrating day for all of us but, we were so happy for Connor who had one awesome weekend.
