5/16/10 Another Win
This weekend we raced at Sugar Hill Speedway. This week was Connor's first race and his Birthday. So Happy Birthday Connor. I would like to thank the Wymans also because they let us borrow their trailer to carry both cars in. Today was also our first time out of the pits because of the new track that actually ran through the pits and the track. But that wasn't for my division or Connor's. We showed up early to get a good spot we aligned the cars and got ready for our first practice. Connor was out first out on to the track and I was second so I didn't get to see Connor's practice but he stayed out of wrecks and was careful. I was next and was fast but couldn't get around the #39 who is new to this season. We had time to get some water and cool off before we went off for our next practice.Connor was first again and did about the same keeping it under control and safe. I was next and this time I got by the #39 and me and the #99 duked it out. Just like old times. We had a long break while the other divisions used the long road course through the pits. My Grandfather and Grandmother showed up after that and we all hung out in the snack bar and just sat around and chilled for a while. I took a long time before we finally we even got ready but when we were up Connor went out and finished fourth in his heat race. He did good but I think he just needs some more track time to get used to going fast. I went out next and the #39 and I went at it for a while before the #99 and I got in front of the #39. We went at it and I held him off and won in the end.We had another break and then got ready. Connor ended up in a little spin out and finished fourth but he did well for his first race.I was out next and held everyone off for the win. Another win.

This weekend we raced our first race at Sugar Hill Speedway. My brother made his First Communion Sunday so he was unable to race. I'm going for the championship this year so I had to skip this one. My Dad could not make the race either so we called up our neighbor Dave Pluckett. We arrived ready to go and my Dad had us all set up. We did our first practice and did great pulling completely away and even lapping someone we were happy with how it performed so didn't change anything. Latter we went out for our second practice again we pulled away and lapped someone. After that my Dad had to leave so Dave and I were on our own. They had the longest drivers meeting next or maybe it was just so hot. I think it must reached eight-five degrees out!! It was by far my hottest race ever. We got all set up for the Heat race and we were starting on the pole. I rolled my car out on the track starting to warm my tires. We all got in line the #99 next to me just like old times. Along with the #20 another blast from the past! Then the rookie the #39. We all got ready and got the green flag and I jumped out front first. I made my way around twice but then the #39 gave me a bump and sent me spinning around. Luckily, no one hit me but my chain fell off. To be honest I was really mad but now I realize it happens when your racing for the win and the #39 was just racing for the win like me. They pulled me off the track and I thought I was done. But out of no where Roy Soskin and Shawn Duhaine come and throw my chain on like nothing! I get back on the track and pass the #99 for first and hang onto it the whole time winning the heat race. I was so happy I won and was so grateful to have two guys come and get me out there to win it!!! We met Linda (Dave's wife) at our pit stall and she had come to watch the race and cheer me on. Dave made a few adjustments to the car and we were all set for the feature race. In no time at all it was time we were first division so we got to go out on the track and due the National anthem. I climbed in and we were off. We lined up me in first #99 second the #39 third and the #20 fourth. I got the green and I was off and took the lead for the whole race winning by eight car lengths!!! I was so happy my first race and my first win of the season!! But if Dave and Linda weren't there to help me and support me I don't know what I would have done. I would also like to thank Shawn and
